Types of Teen Outpatient Treatment

Teen outpatient mental health care is generally categorized into three levels—outpatient, PHP, and IOP. Our clinicians will assess your child’s needs to ensure they receive personalized support.

Day Treatment (PHP)

  • Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a comprehensive treatment option that allows teens to return home each night. It is ideal for those needing more than weekly therapy but not 24/7 care.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

  • At this level of care, which bridges the gap between basic outpatient and intensive residential treatment, teens attend weekday, after-school sessions that offer ongoing support as they maintain regular everyday life.

Outpatient

  • Outpatient care is the least intensive form of treatment. How much time a teen spends in such a program—whether three, five, or ten hours a week—depends on their individual needs.
