Primary Therapist

Carina is a therapist at Avery’s House, where she provides individual, family, and group therapy services to adolescents and teenagers. She is committed to offering an individualized approach for each client, tailoring therapeutic interventions to meet their unique needs. Carina has gained significant experience over the past seven years treating youth in diverse mental health settings, including nonprofits, residential treatment for eating disorders, partial hospitalization programs for youth battling substance abuse, and wilderness therapy.

Carina’s approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Reality Therapy, and Experiential Therapy. She helps clients explore the root causes of their maladaptive thoughts and behaviors while fostering new, healthier ways of thinking and responding. Carina’s passion is to help clients discover their true worth and purpose beyond their challenges, creating a path for growth and self-empowerment. She approaches therapy with authenticity, offering a genuine and realistic perspective that fosters trust and healing. Outside of her work in mental health, Carina is extremely passionate about health and fitness. She can often be found spending time with her family, lifting weights in the gym, or enjoying nature through hiking and rock climbing.
